Prop 47 Grant

Community-Based Organizations (CBO)

Learning Works

Under our Prop 47 grant, we have contracted with Learning Works to provide case management and job skills training to our target population. Learning Works has hired two individuals for this grant program and their roles and responsibilities are included below.

The Case Manager works closely with the Multi-Disciplinary Team to identify individuals who are eligible for Prop 47 services; conduct and review PUSD existing assessment tools (PBIS, U-360, and SDQ); refer to appropriate services through all project service providers; and make regular and critical contact with each individual to help them achieve their personal goals. The Case Manager hired for PIDA works closely with our target population and community partners to enroll PUSD students in existing diversion programs in the county: VIDA and JOIN.

The Employment Manager coordinates job skills, readiness, training, certification and employment for the target population. He/she works closely with PUSD’s College and Career Academies to secure work permits, internships, and employment and refers students to Homeboy Industries for certification and employment in their programs. The Employment Manager will also teach classes to our target population on financial literacy, money management, and applying and interviewing for a job.
