Pasadena Police Department (PPD)

 

The Department provides School Resource Officers through a formal Memorandum of Understanding to support PUSD school sites. SROs perform prevention and intervention activities (Check-in/Check-out, mentoring) as well as suppression activities. Under the Prop 47 grant program, the Department works diligently to ensure students who receive citations and/or are arrested are referred, as appropriate, to Prop 47 services: diversion programs (J.O.I.N. and VIDA), Mental Health Services, substance use disorder treatment, and social services. The Department works with a multi-disciplinary team (law enforcement, juvenile courts, attorneys, probation, and school personnel) to identify and prioritize the target population and identify needed services for each individual.
